What Is Botox®?
Botox® is an injectable that consists of a purified protein solution. Once injected, the product will remain in the treatment area rather than spread. In effect, it acts as a nerve block to prevent transmission of nerve signals from the brain to the treated facial muscles. Although the brain may send a signal for the treated muscle to contract, it cannot since it is not receiving the nerve transmission.

What Should I Expect at My Botox® Appointment?
At your initial appointment, you will sign medical consents and have photos taken for a basis of comparison after your treatment. Initial injections typically take around half an hour. Before your treatment, we will talk you through every step of the procedure so that you completely understand what will occur.
What Will Happen after My Treatment?
You should see the results of your Botox® injections anytime between one to two weeks. The area treated should appear more refreshed and smoother.
Around three months after your treatment, you’ll probably begin noticing a gradual return of facial muscle movement. Eventually, the product will wear off and maintenance injections will be needed to maintain your results.
